The Journal of Management Studies was pleased to highlight the finalists and winner of the 2025 Grigor McClelland Doctoral Dissertation Award, which recognizes outstanding doctoral research in management studies from around the world. The award carries a prize of £5,000.
The award presentation took place at the EGOS conference on Friday, 4th July, in the Pierce Amphitheatre at the American College of Greece in Athens. Hosted by the Society for the Advancement of Management Studies (SAMS), the event celebrated academic excellence and provided an opportunity for scholars to showcase their research.
The finalists, listed alphabetically by surname, were:
Rohin Borpujari – Managing Secretive Innovation: A Historical Study of the Making of the Atomic Bomb
Dipsikha Guha Majumdar – Reimagining Entrepreneurship through the Lens of Caste Inequality and Gender
Alan Zhang – Instability Scaffolding: Enacting Strategic Instabilities to Produce Authentic Premium Wine
Alan Zhang was awarded the 2025 Grigor McClelland Doctoral Dissertation Award for his dissertation, receiving the £5,000 prize in recognition of his exceptional contribution to the field. The Journal of Management Studies extends its congratulations to all finalists for their creativity, rigor, and impact in advancing management research.
