Social enterprises are leading the way in social innovation, but our understanding of how they are scaling their social impact beyond this local context remains limited. This article investigates how Tony’s Chocolonely scaled its social impact beyond these contexts as a social enterprise dedicated to eradicating child labour within the chocolate industry.

This paper provides insight into how social enterprises scale their social impact while avoiding co-optation by industry players.
