At the Academy of Management Annual Meeting in Chicago, the Journal of Management Studies participated in a Professional Development Workshop (PDW) titled “Demystifying Theory Development and Publication: How to Write a Theory Paper and Where to Submit It.”
The 90-minute session was held at the Sheraton Chicago Ballroom and featured JMS Editor Brian Boyd alongside editors from other leading journals.
The workshop provided valuable guidance on the process of writing and publishing theory papers, with editor-led discussions covering journal-specific expectations, acceptance criteria, and common pitfalls. Participants also engaged in roundtable discussions with successful authors, who shared their experiences in developing ideas, structuring papers, and navigating the review process.
We extend our thanks to all who attended and contributed to the success of this enriching event.
