Farewell and Thank You to Professor Christopher Wickert

As Professor Christopher Wickert concludes his term as General Editor of the Journal of Management Studies, we would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere gratitude for his outstanding service and contributions to the journal.

Chris joined JMS in 2019 as an Associate Editor and went on to serve as General Editor from 2021 onward. Over the past six years, he has played a vital role in shaping the journal’s intellectual direction and upholding its longstanding commitment to publishing rigorous, innovative, and impactful research.

A Professor of Corporate Social Responsibility at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU), Chris is internationally recognised for his work at the intersection of corporate social responsibility, organization theory, sustainability, and business–society relations. His scholarly expertise, editorial judgement, and deep engagement with the field have greatly enriched JMS. He has also published influential work in Journal of Management Studies, International Journal of Management Reviews, and Organization Studies, among others.

As General Editor, Chris brought intellectual clarity, fairness, and thoughtfulness to the editorial process. He was deeply committed to supporting authors and reviewers alike, fostering constructive dialogue, and ensuring that JMS remained a leading outlet for theoretically ambitious and socially relevant management research. His collegiality, generosity with his time, and calm leadership have been greatly valued by the editorial team.

We thank Chris wholeheartedly for his dedication, professionalism, and the many contributions he has made to JMS. We wish him every success in his future research and professional endeavours and look forward to following his continued impact on the field.

With warmest thanks and best wishes,
The Journal of Management Studies Editorial Team
