The Journal of Management Studies has recently published this paper examining how stigmatized organizations can push back against powerful actors in digitally mediated contexts. Focusing on the high-profile Sex Tech Award incident, the study shows how digital tools, moral emotions, and audience mobilization enable organizations to redirect stigma back onto their stigmatizers, reshaping power dynamics and social evaluations in the process.
